Terms of Use
Short, plain, and honest about what Mend is and isn’t responsible for.
By using this website and joining the waitlist, you’re agreeing to the points below. If you don’t, that’s fine — just don’t use the site.
What Mend is
Mend is a self-guided tool for reflection and repair, made for parents and caregivers. Today it is a waitlist and a set of information pages; the app is in development and is not yet available.
What Mend is not
This is the important part, and it doesn’t change once the app ships:
- Mend is not therapy and not a therapist. It does not diagnose, treat, or counsel, and it is not a substitute for care from a licensed professional.
- Mend is not a crisis or emergency service. If someone is in danger, use the emergency numbers in the footer of this page.
- Mend does not give medical or legal advice. Nothing here is a professional opinion about you, your child, or your situation.
Using the site responsibly
Please don’t misuse the site — no attempts to break it, scrape it, overload it, or use it to harm anyone. The waitlist is for your own genuine sign-up; don’t add other people’s addresses.
The waitlist
Joining the waitlist means we may email you updates about Mend’s development and availability. It is not a purchase, not a promise of a spot or of beta or early access, and not a contract to deliver a product by any date. Features shown on this site, including the preview screens and examples, are illustrative and provisional, and may change or never ship.
Your content (later)
When the app exists, the intention is that anything you write in it stays yours: we wouldn’t claim ownership of your logs or reflections, and we wouldn’t use them to train AI. The precise wording of this will be set by the lawyer-reviewed version before launch.
No warranty
The site is provided “as is.” We work to keep it accurate and available, but we can’t guarantee it will be error-free or uninterrupted, and to the extent the law allows, we’re not liable for losses arising from your use of it. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under Canadian consumer-protection law that can’t be waived.
Changes
When this becomes a final, lawyer-reviewed agreement, the draft banner above will be removed and the date updated.
Contact
Questions go to a contact address that will be published here before the waitlist opens. Mend is based in North Vancouver, BC, Canada, and these terms are intended to be governed by the laws of British Columbia.
